Santiago lodging - nice and great
If you’re looking for luxury, the Aloha Sol downtown or the Marriott located just out of it are as good as you’ll find. But if you prefer cheap yet reliable, go with the Hotel Colonial. It’s conveniently located and has its own restaurant featuring Dominican home cooking. If it’s full, Hostal del Cibao is just around the corner. It’s clean, cheap, and has a lovely owner (Carmen), but no restaurant. As with any budget hotel in the Dominican Republic, if you want A/C or hot water you’ll have to ask for it and pay extra.
